Fact-Checking Policy
How we keep the library accurate — and fix things when we get them wrong.
Accuracy is the whole point of WaterMythGuide.one. This Fact-Checking Policy describes how we verify claims and how we handle corrections.
Our commitment
We debunk myths, so we hold ourselves to the same standard we apply to them. Every factual claim we publish should be traceable to reputable, current sources.
How we verify
- We check claims against recognised public-health and water-safety authorities and established science.
- We look for consensus rather than relying on a single study, and we note when evidence is limited or evolving.
- We distinguish clearly between what is well established, what is plausible, and what is unproven.
- We avoid sensational framing, scare tactics and absolute claims that the evidence doesn’t support.
What we won’t do
We won’t publish fear-based claims, miracle benefits, or medical promises. When a popular claim is simply unproven, we say that plainly rather than dressing it up.
Reporting an inaccuracy
If you believe something we’ve published is wrong or out of date, please tell us through the contact page and, if you can, include a reputable source. We review every report.
Corrections process
- We assess the report against reliable sources.
- If a correction is warranted, we update the content promptly.
- For significant changes, we refresh the "reviewed" date on the guide.
Review cadence
We periodically revisit our most-read guides and any content where guidance is known to change, so the library stays current.
