Educational estimates only — not medical, engineering or professional advice.
Knowing how many refills your bottle needs to meet your daily target turns an abstract goal into a concrete, trackable habit. Whether you carry a small 350 mL bottle or a large 1-litre flask, this calculator shows you the real number.
The result updates instantly as you adjust either input, so you can experiment with different bottle sizes to find the routine that suits you.
How to use this tool
Two inputs are all you need:
- Daily goal in litres — use the daily water intake calculator to estimate yours if you are not sure.
- Bottle size in mL — check the label on your bottle. Common sizes are 350 mL, 500 mL, 750 mL and 1,000 mL.
Refills are always rounded up, ensuring you meet (rather than fall just short of) your target.
A little background
Using a reusable bottle is one of the most practical ways to reduce reliance on single-use plastic while keeping track of intake. Our guide to reusable bottles covers materials, hygiene and what the evidence says about plastic migration.
Remember that foods — especially fruits and vegetables — also contribute meaningful amounts of water, so your actual drink target may be lower than a pure-fluid calculation suggests.
