How to use this tool
Enter any temperature and choose the unit it is in. The result updates live:
- Celsius to Fahrenheit — multiply by 9/5 then add 32.
- Fahrenheit to Celsius — subtract 32 then multiply by 5/9.
- Kelvin — simply add or subtract 273.15 from Celsius. Kelvin has no negative values at ordinary water temperatures.

A little background
The three scales differ in their zero points, not their step sizes. Celsius and Kelvin share the same degree size; Fahrenheit uses a slightly smaller step. For everyday water use, Celsius is standard in most of the world; Fahrenheit remains common in the United States.
Kelvin is the SI base unit of temperature and is used in scientific contexts. It starts at absolute zero — the theoretical point at which molecular movement stops — roughly −273.15 °C.
